echoes of a dying medium

Comparing the ageing process of the physical body with the degradation of recorded media over time, echoes of a dying medium uses VHS tape as medium for both form and content. Shots of my body are copied back and forth between VHS tapes to create increasingly degraded copies of digital originals that appear to degrade in and out across real-time during the work. These images are combined with further aural and visual VHS tape artefacts to create a moving image piece where the degradation process is imbued in the work from its origin and the death of the work seems inevitable.
